Mapledurham House and Mill

Mapledurham Mill2

In 2017 the Manor House celebrated 50 years of being open to the public and is now closed while an extensive programme of restoration work is undertaken.
This heralds the start of a new era for Mapledurham Watermill and Tearoom.
Since 2012 Mapledurham Mill has undergone many changes to keep this beautiful and unique building working and producing quality stone ground flour. The current structure dates to the time of the English Civil War.

Mapledurham has been the backdrop for many well-known films and TV series, The Eagle has Landed, Miss Marple., Midsomer Murders and Vanity Fair.

Corry explained that continuing maintenance is necessary, and he was very proud of a new Oak waterwheel added in 2014 plus in 2012 Mapledurham estate was granted planning permission to replace an old turbine that had fallen in to disrepair with a new Archimedes screw turbine.

Corry and his wife have been busy refurbishing the tearooms and now offer an exciting range of afternoon teas at this mill - well worth a visit!
