BWA log

BWA works throughout Bracknell, Reading and Wokingham, and they are affiliated to the Women's Aid Federation of England (WAFE).
BWA provides advice, support and refuge services to victims of domestic abuse and provides information and education on the subject to make the case for effective action against domestic violence, intimidation and psychological abuse and for policies that support victims of abuse.
Liz wound up by saying that the BWA are looking forward to the finalisation of plans for the BWA/Rotary/ Orchard House project that we have all been working on for over 18 months and once the legal papers have been completed and signed off we hope to start the building work. The property will provide refuge for 15-18 families which typically involves a mother and 1,2,3 children with 10-12 families in the new build facility. Exciting times!
Finally, Liz thanked the members of Reading Rotary involved in the project and who have worked tirelessly to get the project off the ground for them, it has been very much appreciated.
Liz promised to return in a year or so to report on the final stages of the Orchard House project.
