Santa's Run to raise an 'Olympic' amount for charity

Cheque presentation

An evening dinner held at Caversham Heath Golf Club on 14th March was to celebrate and acknowledge the amazing success of the 2016 Santa Run. The event was sponsored by many of Berkshires leading companies and raised £35,333,74 for local charities. The main sponsors were represented by David Brommel and Trevor Doran from ROC Search. Also sponsors Vail Williams were represented by James Bennet.
Following presentations by Rotarian and Santa Run commentator, David Holby-Wilinksi spoke of how he achieved a Guinness World Record, on a rowing machine. An heroic effort, as was his commentary!
David was followed by Claire Rhodes talking about Daisy's Dream activities. Speakers Alison Brickly, Haley and Jake, enlightened us on the activities of No 5. Both charities received cheques for £10,146 from President Sandra Tucker. Many other charities received a donation from the fund, see our Facebook page.
Many thanks to all Rotarians involved in the planning and implementation of this wonderful event.
