Reading Salvation Army is gearing up to provide 4,000 people with food this Christmas and the Rotary Club of Reading has given them a bumper start with a donation of 266 Christmas puddings, enough for over a thousand people to enjoy their Christmas dinners.

The Salvation Army looks to social services, Victim Support and local schools to tell them about individuals and families in difficulty and the filled hampers will be distributed in early December. But the hampers need filling so people wishing to help should contact Community Development Officer Matthew Stone who can be contacted at the Salvation Army website by following the link.
